Pork recipes #1: Luau Pork

What to buy: grilling spray, 1 8 oz can crushed pineapple in juice, 3 Tbsp orange ginger stir fry sauce marinade, 1 Tbsp chopped green onions, 1 tsp spicy brown mustard, 4 boneless pork loin chops, and 1/4 tsp salt.

What to do: Put a light coat of grilling spray on an outdoor grill and preheat to medium heat. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine crushed pineapple with juice, stir fry sauce, chopped onions, and mustard. Prepare the pork chops by adding the salt to them. Grill for 15 minutes, turning once. Place the pineapple mixture inside the microwave and run on high for 1 minute. Pour on top of the grilled pork chops for a sweet and spicy sauce before serving. Rice or sweet potatoes work best with this recipe.

 

Pork recipes #2: Tangy Sweet Pork Chops

What to buy: 1 Tbsp canola oil, 6 boneless pork chops 1/2-inch thick, 1/4 tsp ground black pepper, 1/2 c sliced yellow onion, 1 15.5 oz sloppy joe sauce, 1/3 c apricot preserves, and 3 c cooked rice.

What to do: Season the pork with ground black pepper. Cook until lightly browned on both sides in a skillet over medium to high heat. Transfer to a plate. In the same skillet, cook the onions until translucent then pour the sloppy joe sauce next, followed by the apricot preserves. Mix well and return the pork chops. Simmer for 5 minutes then serve with the cooked rice.

 

Pork recipes #3: Honey-Mustard Pork Chops

What to buy: non-stick cooking spray, 1 lb. thin cut bone-in pork chops, 1/8 tsp ground black pepper, 3 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 Tbsp honey, 1 Tbsp spicy brown mustard, and 1 tsp finely chopped garlic.

What to do: Season the pork chops with ground black pepper. Cook on a skillet lightly coated with non-stick cooking spray over medium to high heat until light brown in color. Transfer to a plate and keep warm. In the same skillet, place all the remaining ingredients and cook over medium to high heat. Bring to a boil then serve on top of the pork chops.

 

Pork recipes #4: Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches

What to buy: non-stick cooking spray, 3 lb boneless pork shoulder cut into large pieces, 1 12 oz can tomato paste, 1 c BBQ sauce, and 2 16 oz French rolls cut in half lengthwise.

What to do: Coat the inside of the slow cooker with some cooking spray and add the pork. On top of it, spoon the tomato paste over but do not stir. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or 5 hours on high. It is cooked when the meat is soft and tender. Once done, shread the pork using 2 forks. Mix it with the tomato paste then pour the BBQ sauce. Mix well. Put ½ c of the shredded pork on each roll to serve.

 

Pork recipes #5: Grilled Pork Chops with Apricot-Mustard Glaze

What to buy: 1/3 c apricot preserves, 1 tsp spicy brown mustard, 1 tsp soy sauce, 4 bone-in pork chops 1/2-inch thick, 2 tsp canola oil, 1/4 tsp salt, and 1/8 tsp ground black pepper.

What to do: Preheat the grill to medium heat. In a bowl, make the glaze by combining the apricot preserves with the mustard and soy sauce. Reserve 2 Tbsp of this sauce to glaze the pork chops while cooking. Pat dry the pork chops with paper towels and brush lightly with oil. Season with salt and pepper then grill for 5 minutes or until brown. Spread the 2 Tbsp glaze after turning and cook for another 5 minutes. Serve the pork chops with the reserved glaze.
